How to Install Ultrasn0w on Your iPhone 4/3GS Offline

iPhone Dev-Team has finally released Ultrasn0w 1.2.1 which can unlock iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.3.1 running old basebands. If for some reason you do not have an active WiFi connection, you can always unlock your iPhone offline by installing Ultrasn0w 1.2.1 DEB file. This is a simple two-step process which you can accomplish either by SSH'ing (Win | Mac) into your iPhone or by using iPhone Explorer (Without SSH).

Steps to Install Ultrasn0w on Your iPhone 4/3GS Offline:

NOTE: If you have already installed Ultrasn0w 1.2 on your iPhone, first uninstall it by navigating to Cydia->Manage->Packages->Ultrasn0w->Modify and select Remove option.

Step 1: Download Ultrasn0w 1.2.3 DEB file

Step 2: Connect your iPhone to your PC or Mac and launch iPhone Explorer. Place the Ultrasn0w DEB file in AutoInstall directory by navigating to the following location:

Location: /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall

     

Reboot your iPhone normally using SLIDE TO POWER OFF swipe. If you are a T-Mobile USA user, DO NOT forget to disable 3G mode in Settings->General->Network before rebooting your iPhone. After the reboot, you'll find your iPhone fully unlocked on iOS 4.3.1 with all signal-bars issue fixed.

First You need to download :
- Limera1n for Windows
- Limera1n for MAC

Plug your iPhone in and Lunch Limera1n and then click 'make it ra1n'

 Follow the screen instruction : Hold the home and power button together.

 Release the power button

 Limera1n will have your iPhone enter to DFU mode and then will Jailbreak your Phone

 Your phone now almost jailbreak and you see the following the messages.

 If you dont see the Limera1n icon on your iPhone, simply reboot it and then launch your iPhone and select cydia to install.

 Press to Launch Cydia installer

 Press to select the MANAGE tab at the bottom of the screen

 Press to select SOURCES button

 If the ultrasn0w repo is not present, simply press the EDIT button at the top of the right of the screen. Otherwise skip to the next 

 Press the ADD button at the top left of the screen. 

 Enter http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com in the url and press ADD SOURCE

 Once the source has been added press the large RETURN TO CYDIA button

 Press DONE button at the top right of the screen 

 Press to select REPO666.ULTRASN0W.COM from the list.

 Press to selet ULTRASN0W

Press the INSTALL button at the right top of the screen. 

 Press the CONFIRM button at the top right of the screen.

 After installation complete. Press RESTART SPRINGBROAD at the bottom of the screen.

UNLOCK Successfully.

Jailbreak Unlock Iphone OS 4.2.1

Step by Step HOW TO GUIDE to use Redsn0w 0.9.6rc7 to jailbreak your iOS 4.2.1 on both WINDOWS & MAC:

Windows Users:

STEP 1:

• Download Redsn0w 0.9.6rc7 for Windows.
• Download the needed iOS 4.2.1 firmware.
• Place both these in one folder say ‘Pwnage’ on your Desktop.

STEP 2:

• Now you have to double click on Redsn0w file to extract it.

STEP 3:

• Open the ‘Run Prompt’ in Windows by going to Windows or Start button and then type in “Run”.
• Now open ‘Command Prompt’ by writing ‘cmd’ in the Run Dialog Box.

STEP 4:

• Now you have to type following command:

If you have a device with the new bootrom:

%homepath%\Desktop\Pwnage\redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc7\redsn0w.exe -j -i %homepath%\Desktop\Pwnage\iPhone3,1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ipsw

If you have a device with the old bootrom (iPod 2G, iPhone 3GS):

%homepath%\Desktop\Pwnage\redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc7\redsn0w.exe -j -o -i %homepath%\Desktop\Pwnage\iPhone2,1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore.ipsw

You have to type the commands with file names and folders according to the name you have given to your files and folders.

STEP 5:

• RedSn0w will now start running.
• See and implement the self explanatory steps to put your device into DFU mode
• Boot your iDevice with tethered jailbreak options.

Mac Users:

STEP 1:

• Download Redsn0w 0.9.6rc7 for Windows.
• Download the needed iOS 4.2.1 firmware.
• Place both these in one folder say ‘Pwnage’ on your Desktop.

STEP 2:

• Now you have to double click on Redsn0w file to extract it.

STEP 3:

• Now you have to start Terminal of your Mac.

STEP 4:

• Now you have to type following command:

open ~/Desktop/Pwnage/redsn0w_mac_0.9.6rc7/redsn0w.app –args -j -o -i ~/Desktop/Pwnage/iPhone2,1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore.ipsw

STEP 5:

• RedSn0w will now start running.

• Boot your iDevice with tethered jailbreak options.
